A Message from Judge Beth Smith
I am so excited about running for office again in 2022! The team in this office has made some major changes with the population growth, yet keeping with the same professional customer, and personal service. All of my past campaign promises have been kept and I plan on moving forward with the same.
Fair, but firm.
Working with school district, law enforcement agencies and most importantly, the Citizens of Hays County JP pct. 2 toward a safer environment. Some of the major accomplishments made while I have held office since Jan. 1, 1999 are:
- Introducing Shattered Dreams to HCISD and implementing (with a lot of help) and producing on a 3 year rotational pattern for each of the High schools
- Revising all procedures to reflect professionalism
- Most importantly, working with our young people toward the best possible solutions for them and the community to solve problems
Communication has been a strong point for my office.
What I know, you as a citizen should have access to as well. Transparency is a wonderful thing.
My Job is My Life.
How many people do you know that can truly say, "I love my job."? I do. I love what each day brings - already learned and new. I think of my job as my "second" family I pour compassion, energy, time and thought into each and every process that takes place.
A Court for the People, by the People.
With the new civil court rules (effective Sept. 1, 2013), enacted by the State Supreme Court, it finally brings the JP court back to what it should be; an effective PEOPLE'S COURT.
Common sense, along with administering laws set by governing bodies are key in operating this court.
Looking Forward.
Going paperless, the newest technology, and 24/7 availability has made this office team one of the best in the State.
I look forward to serving Pct 2 citizens, with the same team, for many years to come. Thank you for your support.
